Kyoto

Japan was the country I was most excited to visit on our list. I watched many videos and read numerous articles about what to do in Japan and how to do things right. My expectations were exceeded when we arrived. We immediately noticed how friendly and welcoming everyone was, and during our first stroll around town, we were amazed at how clean the streets were. It felt like a dream.

Although the weather in Kyoto wasn’t expected to be great, we were fortunate that it turned out nearly perfect every day we were there. Despite the cherry blossoms delaying their bloom this year, everything went exceptionally well. From the parks and food to the transportation, scenery, temples, and cherry blossoms we saw just before we left, everything was perfect. I’m still in awe of Kyoto’s beauty.

We took a day trip to Osaka to visit the incredible Osaka Castle, surrounded by moats. It was definitely worth the visit, even though it was pouring rain when we went. We also explored an 11-floor arcade, which was quite remarkable. We even tried a batting cage, which was harder than I expected! I wish we had stayed in Osaka for at least two nights because I know we missed out on some amazing experiences.

Tokyo

If there is one place in the world you must visit, it is Tokyo. The food, culture, and atmosphere are all incredible. Everywhere you go and everything you do is remarkable. We explored various parts of Tokyo, including anime, cutting-edge architecture, temples, immersive museums, cherry blossom gardens, pet cafes, and nightclubs. There is so much to experience that we couldn’t fit it all into just one week. This is a place you could visit three or more times without seeing the same thing twice.

One of our favorite experiences was the art museum, where you have to take off your shoes and socks before entering to fully engage with the exhibits.

But the best part of it all is simply walking down the streets and enjoying everything happening around you. We took the train into town every day and always had a fantastic adventure, both planned and spontaneous. It was so convenient having everything easily accessible. I can’t wait to visit again.
