London

We spent 11 days in London, and I honestly would live there if I could. Everything was beautiful and amazing, from the first day we arrived to the very last. Our first day started super early. Since we both love Harry Potter, we had to visit the Making of Harry Potter studio, and it was 1000% worth it. We got to see the actual studios where the movies were filmed and even filled out a souvenir book that sent us on a scavenger hunt around the huge building. It was probably one of my favorite things we did.

The next day was pretty rainy, so we decided to head to the Natural History Museum. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a huge whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling, which was so cool. We spent a couple of hours exploring and learning all about dinosaurs and fossils. Afterwards, we headed to Buckingham Palace. There’s a beautiful park in front of it that we strolled through, and a squirrel ran up to Mark’s foot! We were in shock, but apparently, all the squirrels there are super friendly and used to being hand-fed. The palace itself was a little underwhelming, but it was still very cool to see.

The following day was another early start. We headed to Stonehenge, which is over an hour’s drive from London, but it was so worth it. The stones were just as you’d imagine. Of course, there’s not much to do there, so we took our pictures and learned some history before heading to Windsor Castle, where the royal family lives. The castle is massive, though much of it is not open to the public for obvious reasons, but the parts we did see were amazing.

The next day was our only clear day, so we headed out to see all the famous sights: Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, the Horse Guards, and of course, we walked the streets to take in just how amazing it is. Naturally, we stopped for pictures in the red telephone booths.

We spent the rest of our time indoors due to the rain, doing things like playing mini-golf, darts, going to the movies, and visiting an arcade where we won some prizes. Overall, London is a huge city with always something to do. I would love to go back one day!

Oxford

We did a short day trip to Oxford where we went and saw the school, the bridge of sighs, the gardens, some churches and got a beautiful view of the city from the top of Church of St Mary the Virgin.
