Amsterdam

Well known for its nightlife, Amsterdam is a place that never sleeps. We planned our trip for the weekend so we could experience this ourselves, and they were right. While we enjoyed the nightlife and parties, we also did some exploring to really appreciate this very old and beautiful city. Did you know Amsterdam is where the stock market started? I know, I was surprised too. It’s also the home of the Vincent Van Gogh museum which we were not able to visit but we did go to a live art show of his paintings and it was so cool!

While on a boat tour through the canals, where we got to see the coolest houses, churches, and landmarks from the water. Mark and I also decided to walk around and explore what we hadn’t seen yet. The last thing we did was take a taxi about 25 minutes outside of the city to a small village known for its windmills and how old and well-kept it is. It was actually the cutest town I had ever seen. There were animals everywhere; it felt like you were in a fairytale. This was my favorite part of the Netherlands, and I’m so happy we didn’t skip it!
